Japanese fabric lap quilt
This quilt top has been sitting in the stash for quite a long time (at least 10 years). So it was time to finish it. Silly really there wasn't a lot that needed to be done. I lost interest as I didn't like all the fabrics together, even though I loved all the fabrics....does that make sense? 10 years later, seeing it finished, I really love it.

Quilt and table runners for our loungeroom.
After seeing lots of Scrappy Trips Around the World blocks and quilts, Pattern from Quiltville, on Instagram, I couldn't help but go through the stash and try the pattern out. So much fun, and easy to do.
I started off doing 3 table runners for the nesting tables in our loungeroom
Then I thought, maybe I will just make a small quilt with the leftover fabric, rather than put it back on the shelf. Enough fabric "left-over for a large quilt, that covers the 2 1/2 seater couch. Cameron thought the blocks were great, and he wanted to put them together into a pattern. So after laying it out on the floor and him playing with the blocks for 1/2 hour, this is what he came up with. It is now his favourite quilt.
I didn't put any fabric back on the shelf, I used up some extra blocks on the backing as well!

Reversible Scrap Quilt blocks
Spending a bit of time after working through the box of 2"strips, to tackle the "less than 2" strip box. (I know, it's crazy).
Using leftover 10" x 10" squares of wadding, I am sewing all the strips to the wadding. Eventually I will make some quilts out of them. It surprises me how many blocks you can make with the leftover strips that I couldn't bear to throw in the bin because they were small, but not that small.
(On a side note, anything less than 1" gets thrown away)
That's all the less that 2" strips for now. One day these will get sewn into a quilt.

2012 #17 & #18 Table Runner
oh no, look what I found, more of the shapes I cut out a few years ago.
Not enough to make a quilt (maybe), so I decided to use these for more table runners.
First the reds.

2012 #15 & #16 Table Runner
This last green table runner is the end of the 2"strip box. There are only a few strips left that I can't do anything with at the moment.

2012 #11 & #12 Table Runners
11th Table runner. Still using the 2" strips.
I wonder if I will ever see the bottom of this box of 2"strips.
There seems to be lots of green 2" strips in the collection.
So I have sorted them all out and started a few of this pattern.

Pinboards
When we first moved to Berlin, I made the boys a pinboard each to collect pins of all the different places we visited while we were in Europe. After 6 years, the pinboards had been totally full. I added an extra panel to the boys pinboards to keep adding pins to. They went through the quilting fabric and chose the colours they wanted.
Cameron's pinboard
Alexander's pinboard
I have been meaning to make myself a board as well, for my pins. I finally got around to it, and stuck all my pins on it. I really like it!

2012 #3 & #4 Table Runners
The challenge....how many table runners can I make from this box of 2inch strips....
A good start, but it doesn't even look like I have taken any strips from the box...this is going to be an interesting challenge!

2012 #1 & #2 Table Runners
Well, we are living in a small house at the moment, and I do not have the space to create larger quilts. At least with table runners I can still play with different patterns, and use up the stash. Here is the first two, a simple 4 patch on point, and a four patch.

Quilted table runner for gifts
I had hoped to knit something for the kid's teachers for a Christmas present, but as the school fair took up most of my September - Dec, there was little time to be knitting 2 gifts as well, so I decided to make a few table runners, as I can do this a lot quicker than knitting.
